Tupaia's Part in NZ history

Tupaia, a Polynesian who used the stars to navigate, helping Cook succeeding in his great journey to New Zealand. Tupaia was talented in different ways, he  knew lots of fluent Pasifika languages and also English which he learned along the way on Cooks ship, He was also known as an artist and tattooist. However Tupaia was not credited for his part in the journey in finding Aotearoa.
Finding informaition about Tupaia and his journey is very important in the New Zealand History.

Anxiety project :)

Image result for rabbitAnxiety Equity project.
For INT, my group lily, Hannah, Charlotte, Alana, Jessica and I are res
earching about things we could help deal with Anxiety.
We have discussed and found that animals help lower Anxiety's  in schools, and the community.
people often feel calmer and more relaxed being with animals.
We were thinking that we could bring students together that might have some anxiety issues and organise a trip to the SPCA where animals are social towards people, or we could bring animals into schools for people to stay by.
So far into this project we are trying to contact other people for further advice and information

Karen's Curious cove map

In DHT we have been learning about the Marlborough sounds and many facts about the different
sounds. The map that I made has all the places that we have past and been to it also includes photos. Start is at Otaki and then follow the line to our destination.

Curious cove camp

Curious cove camp
On Monday we boarded the ferry to Picton. Overall it took us 3 hours for us to travel from Otaki to Picton with an extra 30 minutes for us to get to wellington from Otaki. As we arrived we took another small boat to get to Kiwi Ranch Youth camp. As we arrived we saw the cabins that we were staying in and the playground. When we got off the boat we formed a line and gave our bags to one another so it would be easier. On the jeti I saw a lot of fish and stingrays which was amazing.

The things we did at kiwi ranch was Kayaking, fishing, bush walk and swimming.  Also we got to travel to ships cove where we saw dolphins, penguins and other amazing animals. and also we went to Motuara island which had an amazing view at the top. For me camp was amazingly fun and I am so glad the I took this opportunity to see some nice views.

Environmental issue: Deforestation

Environmental issue: Deforestation

You may think there are a lot of trees left in the world but did you know that 10 trees are cut down every 10 seconds you count.

100 species of animals are killed because of deforestation each day. We could be next if our trees are gone. 200,000 acres of rain forest are gone already.
Rain forests contain about 50% of the worlds wildlife population which is round about 50,000 species

This is very shocking that we are just letting this happen to our world.
We can start changing our lives now even the tiniest move can make a great change into the future.
